At Challenge Entertainment, Game Nights are designed around connection. Friends gather around tables. Teams form nicknames and inside jokes. Strangers slowly become familiar faces. What often goes unnoticed is how frequently those small moments grow into something life changing.

Over the years, Live Trivia has sparked friendships, traditions, and rivalries. And sometimes, it sparks love. Not the dramatic movie version. The real kind. The kind built on laughter, shared experiences, and showing up week after week.

This February, we are celebrating two couples whose love stories are deeply tied to Game Nights. Different beginnings. Different journeys. One shared truth. Their paths crossed because they chose to play.

A First Date That Changed Everything

Glen and Jessica

When Glen and Jessica planned their first date, trivia was not part of the plan.

They met online and chose to meet in person on March 29, 2023 at Mockingbird Bar and Tacos in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dinner. Drinks. Conversation. All the usual nerves that come with a first date.

About thirty minutes in, Live Trivia started.

Instead of tuning it out or leaving, they leaned in. They played together. Answered questions. Laughed. Learned how each other thought under pressure. Trivia did not interrupt their date. It became part of it.

What Jessica did not know at the time was that Glen had already made a meaningful choice that night. He skipped his regular weekly trivia night with friends at another venue just to be there. His phone lit up nonstop as his friends teased him for missing Game Night.

There was something else she would not learn until later.

Glen has partial hearing loss. Between the crowd noise, music, and the host, keeping up was not easy. Instead of letting it derail the night, he stayed present. He smiled. He followed along as best he could. He chose connection over comfort.

They laugh about it now. But that night showed just how much the moment mattered to him.

That unexpected Game Night became the beginning of something lasting.

Nearly three years later, Glen and Jessica have built a life together and blended their families. Each brought a child into the relationship and created a new team of their own.

Live Trivia never left their story. They still play together. They celebrate anniversaries with Game Nights. What began as a surprise became a tradition and a memory they will always share.

From Game Nights to Building a Life

Taylor and Elissa

Taylor and Elissa’s story spans more than a decade and, while it did not begin at a Challenge Entertainment Game Night, it eventually became deeply rooted in one.

They met in the summer of 2014 while working at a bar in Birmingham, Alabama. Taylor was bartending while attending UAB. Elissa was home from college, working in the kitchen while finishing her degree and playing collegiate softball.

After about a month of working together, Taylor made his move in the most Taylor way possible. He left Elissa a handwritten note on a receipt slip with a simple question.

Elissa checked maybe.

They have been best friends ever since.

Their relationship endured three years of long distance while Elissa finished school. Eventually, distance turned into a shared life, then marriage, and then a family. This year marks nearly twelve years together, with their eighth wedding anniversary coming up in September.

Challenge Entertainment entered their lives naturally through friendships and weekly Game Nights. Playing Live Trivia together became part of their routine and part of their community. A place where relationships grew and familiar faces became friends.

Encouraged by close friends already involved, Taylor officially joined Challenge Entertainment as an Area Manager. What started as an opportunity quickly became something more meaningful.

Elissa joined as a host in 2016. She loved the energy, the people, and the way Game Nights created connection beyond the game itself.

After the COVID shutdowns, everything changed. Taylor took on the challenge of rebuilding from the ground up. Long days. Heavy responsibility. Elissa watched it unfold up close.

Instead of stepping back, they leaned in together.

In March of 2022, Elissa joined Challenge Entertainment full-time. Many wondered if living together, working together, and raising a family together could really work.

For them, it always had.

They had spent their entire relationship facing life as a team.

Today, Taylor and Elissa work side by side, building a business rooted in community, connection, and Game Nights. Balancing family life with meaningful work. Showing up together, just as they always have.
